How to choose a flamenco school in Granada

If you live in Granada: the September-to-June course
Most neighbourhood schools organise the year like a school course, with groups by level one or two evenings a week and a showcase or gala at the end. It's the way to learn gradually with the same group, and the one that shows the most progress over the medium term. It's usual to sign up in September or October, though many accept students mid-course.
If you're coming to Granada: the week-by-week intensive course
Granada gets a lot of people who come specifically to study flamenco, and several schools offer it by the week: you start any Monday, take classes every day and leave when your stay ends. Some are Spanish-language schools that combine it with the language. If that's your case, the school's page will tell you whether the course runs by the week and in what language it's taught.
Ask the school for the price
We don't publish prices: they change depending on the course, weekly hours, age and whether the class is individual or in a group, and an out-of-date figure would lead you to choose badly. Each page's form asks the school directly.
Ask who teaches the class
In a city with so much flamenco tradition, several teachers dance, sing or play at the city's tablaos and festivals. The school pages note who runs each school when the school itself shares it; the first class is the best way to find out whether you click with that person.
