Information about Casa de Porras (Universidad de Granada)
Casa de Porras is the University of Granada's cultural centre in the Albaicín, and runs performing arts and music workshops every term. Among them, a beginners-level flamenco singing workshop, with no previous knowledge required, that works on vocal technique, compás and the palos alegrías, tangos and bulerías.
The autumn 2026 edition is eight three-hour sessions, on Wednesday afternoons from 21 October to 16 December. It's taught by Antonio de la Pura, a cantaor and pianist from Granada who accompanies bailaores at tablaos and festivals in Granada, and is musical director of the "Lorquianas" project by the company La Vidriera.
