Institut Flamenco de Barcelona is a non-profit cultural association founded by guitarist and musicologist David Leiva, based at the Casal de Barri Diagonal Mar, in Poblenou. It offers ways to learn flamenco dance in Barcelona, with the class taught by teacher Susi Medina, as well as singing and guitar.
The dance class is on Wednesdays from 16:00 to 17:00; singing is taught weekly by Irene Zugaza and Laura Mateo, covering soleá, siguiriya, alegrías, tientos, tangos, bulerías and fandangos. Training is available in person and online, in Spanish and English, with a PRE-GS programme preparing for Grado Superior with joint certification from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
