Information about La Capitana

La Capitana, in L'Hospitalet, has been run since 2017 by Sevillian bailaor José Manuel Álvarez. The name pays tribute to 'La Capitana', the nickname of bailaora Carmen Amaya. It's one of the flamenco dance schools in Barcelona with levels from beginners through to professional training.

Classes are in Spanish, in the afternoon and evening Monday to Thursday —between 18:00 and 21:30 depending on the day— and Saturday from 10:30 to 13:30. Almost all in-person classes can also be followed via streaming, which makes it easier to keep up with the course for those who can't always attend in person.

How we check our data

The details on this page come from the school's website and public sources, checked on the date shown at the foot of the page. We don't publish prices: they change with the course, the hours and the group, and the right one is the one the school gives you when you ask. If you're the school and want to correct or add something, write to us.
